Strategic Sourcing Manager

This is a critical role within the APAC procurement team in terms of delivering savings and identifying resources of the highest quality, to be delivered throughout the Asia Pacific business streams.

This is an end to end strategic sourcing role that will challenge the incumbent to target their activities regionally and holistically whilst balancing both the regional and global category strategies. As such it will require advanced procurement techniques and thinking together with the ability to influence and negotiate at the highest level to deliver multimillion dollar deals across multiple countries. This will call upon an in-depth knowledge of in-country trading policies across the whole Asia Pacific region and is likely to suit those candidates who have operated successfully at a regional level.

The successful person will also demonstrate superior knowledge of commercial risk, contract management and SLA development.

Position Duties

The key duties for the role will include:

• Leading sourcing activity against company and category strategic goals
• Driving the end to end (to contract agreement) procurement process locally and regionally
• Negotiating with and selecting suppliers
• Adhering and monitoring supplier compliance
• Developing supplier relationships
• Managing internal stakeholder relationships

As part of a programme of change designed to deliver world class procurement solutions to its business, our client is seeking to appoint a commercially adept, experienced strategic sourcing manager in Singapore.  

To be successful you should be an experienced procurement professional with a minimum of 2 years experience of sourcing at regional level together with:

• In-depth knowledge of supply markets and trends within Asia Pacific
• Exceptional negotiation skills honed over multimillion dollar deals
• Strong supplier management skills
• High levels of commercial acumen
• Expertise in managing a complex sourcing workload across multiple countries
• Advanced procurement techniques
• Expertise in strategic contract development

This role is based in Singapore and a strong preference will be for those who have recent experience of working and living in Asia and ⁄or already have the right to work in this country.
