New joint venture set to monopolise Australia’s express courier service industry
Published: Jul 08, 2008 Australia - Following the success of the express couriers' joint venture in New Zealand between Deutsch Post World Network's (DPWN) express unit DHL Express and New Zealand Post, the companies have set up another express courier joint venture arrangement in Australia. The New Zealand post, a regional enterprise specializing in sending and receiving messages and DHL Express, a forerunner of the international express and logistics industry, will share an equal representation in this joint venture. The new joint venture known as Express Couriers Australia Pty limited (ECA) unites 6 complimentary companies and provides coverage to more than 80% of the country. New Zealand Post believes that this step would be beneficial in the long run for the companies and customers alike since the joint venture would be better positioned to serve the increasing need for courier services in Australia due to its wider network coverage. Furthermore, by combining the strengths of the different companies, the competitiveness of the ECA increases. In addition, the new arrangement consolidates both company strengths and customer bases, thereby increasing the growth potential of the ECA in the Australian market. Deutsche Post Related Stories: |
