DHL launches three branches in China
China - DHL Global Forwarding has opened three new branches in China, in the hopes of solidifying its position in there.
The three new branches are Changsha in Hunan Province, Hefei in Anhui Province and Changchun in Jilin province, touted for their potential in manufacturing, electronics and the automotive industries.
The new branches will offer DHL Global Forwarding's international freight forwarding services, such as international airfreight, international ocean freight, trucking and customs clearance, in addition to domestic airfreight, which is one of the key service offerings that will provide support for customers with pan-China distribution capabilities from central and western areas.
"With the ongoing development of the nation's infrastructure, we are seeing more and more production shifting from the coastal areas to the mid, northern and westen areas of China," said Steve Huang, MD of DHL Global forwarding China.
The company also announced plans to invest US$20 million in the country over the next few years, bringing the total amount invest in China to US$50 million. The investments will be made to strengthen its position in the market, the company said.
