UPS rolls out 8 new products for ‘08
UPS has launched eight products in Asia aimed at simplifying global trade for its Asian customers conducting business internationally.
Three of the services, UPS Express Freight, UPS Air Freight Direct and UPS Air Freight Consolidated fall under the simplified global air freight services category. The first is a guaranteed time-definite, one-to-three day door-to-door delivery, with triple the number of lanes served by an express freight option. The UPS Air Freight Direct and UPS Air Freight Consolidated services are one-to-three and three-to-five day airport to airport services, made for less time-sensitive global movements.
The company also launched four new customer technology products: the UPS Paperless Invoice, UPS Returns, UPS Broker of Choice and UPS FTZ Facilitator, as part of the US$1 billion UPS invests in technology annually.
UPS's eighth new product for the year is one customised for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, as well as hospitals and medical labs that need biological substances transported internationally for clinical tests and research.
"The Biomedical Sciences and Healthcare Services industry is one of the key focus areas for Singapore," says Mary Yeo, MD of UPS Singapore. "[The product offering] is in line with the government's endeavour to turn Singapore into a regional biomedical hub."
The logistics market for the global healthcare industry is currently estimated at US$43 billion.
The eight products are available in Singapore from January 2008.
