Global - A UPS cargo plane was suspected to be carrying a package containing a printer toner package that resembled an improvised bomb.

The device was found at an airport in Birmingham, England. A report by New York Times stated that federal officials isolated UPS cargo planes which landed at both US airports as they were carrying similar packages to the one found the England.

While test results for explosives were negative, cargo planes that landed at the Newark and Philadelphia airports were being searched thoroughly.

The United States Transportation Security Administration said the planes were moved to a remote location out of caution. Meanwhile, UPS is cooperating with authorities who are monitoring reports of suspicious-looking packages on board cargo planes.

An article by Logistics Management revealed that information regarding the potential bomb was obtained "through some form of screening mechanism that took place".
