Procurement Manager

SENIOR APPOINTMENTS        PROCUREMENT

China - You will be responsible for the planning and development of short and long term procurement strategies, establishing of policies and procedures ensuring efficiency and effectiveness of the organisation's operations in Jiangxi, China.

Role Description:

• Responsible for budget/forecast planning and identifying lower cost producers for existing products as well as potential producers for project type customer requirements
• Develop and implement short and long term procurement strategies to reduce costs and improve quality and service
• Establish procurement policies and procedures to ensure efficient handling of resources and compliance with local laws/regulations
• Oversee the effectiveness of operations and procedures, and propose methods for continuous improvement
• Lead supplier identification, qualification and management with respect to production of materials and operation
• Be involved in contract negotiations and supplier quality system/company quality system requirements
• Manage resources, quotations and competitive bids to ensure efficient allocation
• Establish and maintain vendor databases and administer assigned categories and product codes
• Manage SAP Purchasing Module to ensure efficiency

Requirements:

• Resident in Mainland of China
• BS Degree in Chemistry or Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 10 years' chemical or processing industry experience with more than 5 years in sourcing/procurement/manufacturing, MNC working experience preferred
• Minimum 2 years' experience leading a procurement team
• Multi-tasker with excellent project management skills
• Fluent in English and Mandarin
• Team player with excellent analytical, negotiation and inter-personnel skills
• Open to domestic & international travel
