Da Chan Bay adds Hapag-Lloyd
China - Hapag-Lloyd's Pacific Atlantic Express (PAX) is the company's first string of service at Da Chan Bay Terminal One.
The PAX service will call at Da Chan Bay every Saturday, deploying 13 container vessels with an average capacity of around 4,600 TEUs. It follows a port rotation of: Kaohsiung - Yantian - Hong Kong - Da Chan Bay - Kobe - Nagoya - Tokyo - Seattle - Oakland - Manzanillo (Panama) - Savannah - Norfolk - New York - Halifax on its Eastbound service and Halifax - New York - Norfolk - Savannah - Manzanillo (Panama) - LA - Oakland - Yokohama - Kobe - Kaohsiung - Yantian - Hong Kong - Da Chan Bay on its Westbound service.
"As the last port of call in South China, Da Chan Bay will offer our customers an improved transit time to North America and to the Caribbean," says Thomas Mandelkau, MD of Hapag-Lloyd.
"Delivery by barge from West Pearl River Delta (PRD) to Da Chan Bay will result in lower carbon emission and lower logistics cost," Andrew Milliken, CEO of Da Chan Bay Terminal One said.
