DHL SENIOR APPOINTMENTS
Global - DHL announces appointment of new Chief Operating Officer for its Global Customer Solutions (GCS) organisation yesterday.
GCS is DHL's customer relationship management organisation for the group's top 100 customers worldwide. Established in 2004, it prides itself as an empowered single point of contact, serving customers across geographical regions.
The appointment of Rob Siegers will see this key role continuing to maximise customer relationship management on a global scale, in line with the group's approach of increasing supply chain efficiencies and reducing costs, particularly in the current economic environment.
With more than 30 years of experience in the logistics and transportation industry. Siegers headed GCS in Europe and Emerging Markets since the end of 2004, and was responsible for the European Express Integration Office after the acquisition of DHL during his tenure as chief operating officer for Deutsche Post Euro Express in 2000.
"We are very pleased to announce Rob's new role and welcome his vast experience. His leadership of GCS will help customers drive optimization of their supply chains through implementation of scalable and sustainable solutions," said Frank Appel, CEO, Deutsche Post DHL.
The 57-year-old Dutch national holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Amsterdam started his career in a company specializing in terminal handling, and held several management positions in supply chain solutions with Nedlloyd and Danzas.
