Managing Director

Australia - The managing director will work closely with the board to develop strategies and policies ensuring a commercially successful provider of safe, reliable and efficient network services.

Role Description

TransGrid is the owner, operator and manager of Australia's largest high voltage transmission network with over $5.2 billion in assets, 1000 staff, income of $652.8 million and a net profit of $217.4 million in 2009. TransGrid is a highly regarded State Owned Corporation with an emphasis on commercial focus and reliable electricity supply.

As MD, you will develop strategies and policies to ensure that TransGrid is a commercially successful provider of safe, reliable and efficient network services. You will advise and report to the Board on the corporate plans, finances, performance and commercial development of TransGrid to enable it to meet its decision making obligations to shareholders and the community. Importantly, you will drive a culture of safety to employees and the public and deliver measurable improvements in corporate responsibility.

Requirements:

This demanding and highly rewarding role will appeal to a senior executive with extensive experience in a similar role and a proven ability to direct a large multi-disciplinary commercial organisation.

Possessing highly developed leadership and stakeholder management skills, an in-depth knowledge of infrastructure management and an ability to advise and report at Board level, is essential to the overall success of this role.
