Category Manager (Contract Role) - IT Procurement

Singapore - The Category Manager implement risk mitigation strategies to proactively manage problems arising from sourcing/procurement contracts.  

Role description:

The following tasks are fundamental to the role...

• Add value to the IT&T category across the Asia business including enterprise applications contracts and vendor management review.
• Share detailed product and/or category knowledge and communicate this knowledge to appropriately advise business units and stakeholders on go to market or process initiatives for IT&T.
• Remain abreast of category supply market dynamics, trends, cost drivers and to implement relevant industry procedures such into practice
• Research, develop and implement operational Sourcing/Procurement or administration policies, systems and procedures where necessary
• Advise on specialist processes and systems support regarding relevant sourcing discussions and negotiations.
• Implement risk mitigation strategies to proactively manage problems arising from sourcing/procurement contracts.

Jigsaw's Client is an international Financial Services business, a market leader with a superb culture of autonomy, looking for a contract resource to deliver sourcing capability around IT and in particular, enterprise applications.

The role holder is required to support the Director in the development and ongoing management of a Category implementation as well as consult to internal clients on technology contracts, tendering and other acquisition processes.

The IT&T Category Lead is also required to provide process engineering and training on benefits of category management to various stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Technology background with a number of years in a functional Category Management role covering a regional multi-million spend.
• A sourcing professional in the first instance rather than a Technology person, both appreciated
• Senior management stakeholder engagement experience
• Extensive depth of experience in IT Procurement within blue chip businesses not small to large businesses
• Exposure moving an organisation from transactional to strategic procurement preferred
• Highly developed commercial acumen and communication skills
