Global - Airbus booked new orders from Qatar and Vietnam Airways at the Paris Air Show this week.
Vietnam Airlines said it was planning to purchase two long-haul Airbus A350 jets and 16 medium-haul A321s, the airline's chairman told reports at the air show.
"We are going to sign a memorandum of understanding the week during the air show," Nguyen Sy Hung, chairman of Vietnam Airlines said.
Meanwhile Qatar Airways will sign a contract for 24 Airbus A320 Family aircraft in line with its expansion strategy. The agreement includes 20 A320s as well as the firming up of four A321 aircraft announced at the Farnborough Air Show in July 2008.
"The additional Airbus A320s and A321s give Qatar Airways a firm footing in the rapid development and expansion of our regional network," said CEO Akbar Al Baker.
The carrier currently operates 19 A320 Family aircraft.
