Global - Airbus CEO Thomas Enders was under questioning by French police for allegedly being a part of the corruption probe against its parent company EADS.
Enders was called in for questioning by the French financial market regulator AMF for his part in insider trading between 2005 and 2006, media reports said. The AMF said Enders sold 50,000 stock options in the European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company in 2005 for a pre-tax profit of more than 700,000 euros (US$970,000).
In total, 17 French and German current and former management and officials of EADS and Airbus are suspected of insider training.
Enders was, however, not placed in detention nor under investigation, Airbus spokesman Stefan Schaffrath told Reuters.
